2013 Harp Festivals

InterHarmony International Music Festival Two sessions in Arcidosso,Tuscany, Italy: July 3-15 and 16-28, 2013; third session July 30-August 11, 2013 in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany (http://www.srimf.com/) includes harp study. Harp instructor will be Kyung-Hee Kim-Sutre (http://www.srimf.com/faculty.html). The Festival offers the opportunity to spend up to six weeks in Europe studying with an internationally renowned faculty of many well-known soloists and chamber musicians, includes elements of the Russian School. VIII Rio Harp Festival May 1-31, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. "One of the world’s biggest harp festivals...highlights the good quality music, regardless of its background, school or era, from medieval music to European classics, from romantic to impressionist, from modern to contemporary Brazilians." 2013 Summer Harp Camps 

An Chúirt Chruitireachta, International Harp Festival L. June 30-July 5, 2013 at An Grianán in the village of Termonfeckin, Co Louth, Ireland. Instructors for harpers of all levers and ages. Study all aspects of traditional music for Irish harp. Workshops and concerts. Edinburgh International Harp Festival April 5-10, 2013 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Many concerts, workshops, sessions, classes in harp, singing, Gaelic and more. A few of the guest artists: Mike Parker, Savourna Stevenson, Isobel Mieras, Edmar Casteñeda, Corinna Hewat, Park Stickney. http://www.harpfestival.co.uk/

International Harp Summer School  P.  29 July - 2 August, 2013. Part of the Advanced Summer Schools of Benslow Music. Instructor: Danielle Perrett. This harp course is designed to help advanced players aspiring to attain the highest levels. Masterclass for Harp with Assia Cunego  L, P.   22-26 June and 3-7 August, 2013 at the harpACademy, Sanstedt, Germany. " A master class is - like a whole year of lessons. The days are filled with mutual artistic stimulus and exchange, performance training, experiencing crises and breakthroughs, special relaxation exercises for harpists, playing and enjoyment. The final concert on the last day shows everyone’s great progress." Scoil na gCláirseach - Summer School of Early Irish Harp L. August 14-20, 2013, Kilkenny School of Music, Ireland. Wire-strung harp, music of the early Irish harpers, medieval playing techniques, Irish ornamentation.
